2024 Morisoli Vineyard

Meticulously hand-farmed, maintained by a small fleet of vintage tractors, and located centrally within the excellence of the Rutherford Bench, the Morisoli Vineyard promises to shine in its inaugural Schrader vintage. Planted in 1992, these Cabernet vines are now farmed under the expert stewardship of Gary and Christopher Morisoli, fourth and fifth generation farmers on the same land.

Representing Schrader’s first foray into Rutherford-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 vintage offers layered complexity, supple tannins, and the distinctive character of one of Napa Valley’s most storied sites. This wine is a testament to both heritage and innovation, thoughtfully crafted at the convergence of past and present.

First planted in the late 1880's, this celebrated site is located just off Highway 29 on Niebaum Lane and is now managed by fourth- and fifth-generation Morisolis, continuing a contiguous family tradition amongst the Rutherford dust on the Rutherford Bench.

Meticulously hand-farmed and maintained by a small fleet of original tractors, French plows, and vintage implements in an effort to "farm the old way," the site produces beautiful Clone 7 Cabernet on bilaterally cordon-trained vines aligned in 8' by 6' rows. As one of the two newest additions to our portfolio, the Morisoli Vineyard promises to shine in its inaugural Schrader vintage.

As vintage 2024 makes its way to bottle, it is shaping up to be what many in Napa Valley are calling a classic—depth of flavor, beautifully structured, and evocative of the terroir we cherish. Generous winter rains laid the groundwork for the season, easing the impact of summer heat, while warm days and cool nights culminated in a confident, well-timed harvest that allowed each site to express its fullest potential.

As winemakers, we rarely get vintages that feel close to perfection, but 2024 was one of those years where color, depth, and vibrancy came together with remarkable balance—yielding fruit that promises compelling wines with both immediate presence and long-term cellar potential.
